Can some one define what it is to be "Certified" in the field of Permaculture?
Could Permaculture be defined as a science?
It seems to me to be a combination of all sciences including the field of ecology.
    Just looking for some opinions.
    Thanks

    Re: Certification?

Hi upnorth. Is there a need to certify Permaculture? Can it be what it is and give to people what they need from the concept? I feel we may some time over analyse instead of just being. Regards Purplepear.

if you take away the universities, youve lost nothing, but if you take away the forest youve lost everything. b.c mollison

    Re: Certification?

Still looking for a glimer of hope into my certification question. Just heard of a school in Florida? Does any one know about this school. I really do want to help and teach what I can, but as stated earlier to teach we need performance standards. Just becasue I know alot about gardening and landscaping doesn't mean Im any help to permaculture. What about clubs in Minnesota?

    Re: Certification?

    Hi Upnorth'

Actually, to be realistic, the Teacher Registration refered to here is actually an English test to see if a graduate can read Bills Manual. Ever since he made it known that his curriculum was based on his book, he has had little troble with "failed" teachers. I do recall Geoff Lawton refering to a particular registered teacher of "Bills" as having no credibility as a teacher or designer. You can only teach what you know. You should find out what your Teacher knows.
