"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of State and corporate power." Benito Mussolini, 1883-1945, Fascist dictator of Italy

A commentator recently said that 50% of the value of the Australian Stock Exchange is held by the 4 major banks - who do what? Apart from invent novel methods of expanding their fee base.

Five years ago my wife and I had a turnover of 100k and my bookkeeper noticed we had paid $1500 in bank fees and she was going home to check her own accounts. Luckily, I suppose, I had NIL BORROWINGS otherwise the mo' fo's might have really got me.

Floot, I guess you've spotted the connection between fascism and banks? What was fascism before Mussolini named it? The history and roots of fascism makes interesting study.

Just had my own council experience. Phones the council and asked them what they were putting in place to control the dingos which are menacing the whole area and in my opinion are only a step away from menacing people big time. They said it was my responsibility to look after my own farm animals.
I said yes, I know but under the local government act it is the councils responsibility to control feral animals and vermin which dingos are at the moment so what are they doing about it.
She said "If a dingo savages your farm animals, we will charge you with animal cruelty for not looking after them".
Am I alone in finding this a bit non sequitor?

Perhaps you should put them in contact with the University of Queensland. They are doing/have done research on urban dingoes.

My vet was telling me that roundworm has virtually disappeared from the population on urban dogs since the 70s. This is good news considering the number of people who don't clean up after their dogs. Surely the council should be considered about the health risk imposed by the dingoes, if nothing else.

Another example of Rigorously Applied Stupidity.

Try taking Geoff Lawton's example, and point out to them their Duty of Care; assure them that you will publish their names and their response to your concerns the minute someone's child is injured.

In the meantime, have you contacted National Parks, or RSPCA? I'm not sure it will do much good, but it's worth finding what they think about the situation.

Have spent many years in the bush living with dingoes and can live with them in that situation where they seem to be in balance and while they are destructive, they are not overly so. However, the urban dingoes frighten me silly because they are just as savage but have lost all their fear of people which is inherent in the wild dingoes. When the dingo/ baby thing happened, I couldn't imagine a dingo that would go within smelling distance of a person but have since seen the dogs in national parks who scavange bins etc. and they are fearless - scary.
