    hey all.

just thought i'd point you towards this forum.

    https://www.aussieseedsaverscatalogue.net/

run from tassie - it is an excellent seed exchange/selling forum. to be involved fully costs you $5 - so you can post and sell some of your own seeds...but you can just read and buy seeds from others who have posted.

the deal as always - the more people who know, the better the forum will be.

    check it out

    cheers

    the site looks pretty informative....

being a member of Seed Savers i have access to most of what will be offered on this site... yet offerings are only done twice a year, so this site would be handy for me if i want something now.

It also allows for more detail about the seed you are collecting, which i like the idea of.

As you say, the more ppl who know about this the better it will be. I know Seed Savers approve of the site, and the internet is changing the way information is passed around these days, so good luck to the creators of the site i say :)

    Cheers.... Dave

    ah. excellent point dave.
i should subsrcibe to seed savers - don't yet....so many orgs to support - strawbale aust. - permaculture international - the greens -
anyway. like i said - for those of us new to this gamr - i think the hints and tips available on seed propogation and collection could be very worthwhile - it appears top be rather tassie focussed at the moment...which isn't too bad for me - considering central vic has a relatively similar climate!

    cheers

I place a heavy emphasise on raising my vegies by seed and improving my methods at doing so. I feel its the cheapest form of sustainability we can start with and definitely a very satisfying achievement when all goes well.

Keeping certain strains alive is vital for bio-diversity and keeps us less reliant on commercial seed companies who only do themselves favours!

Its also helped me establish a good relationship with my neighbours.

Latest thing was swapping different varieties of Cosmos with the lady next door... she had purple and pink flowers where i only had orange..... now we all have both and it didnt cost us anything! :p .... gotta love that.

    cheers... Dave

    and don't forget the addiction...
it becomes a very obsessive activity - collecting so many different varieties -

like footy cards when i was young...but again, far more sustainable than footy cards - especially the gum!
