    Hi,
I have 2 old apple trees, the remnants of a home orchard in Melbourne. One is in full bloom now(mid-Sept.) and one blomed about 3-4 weeks ago. Is there any way to identify them so I can get pollinators for them? Neither set fruit last year.
    Thanks.

    Apple trees

    Hi Ramon

You should go to a nursery in Melbourne to ask about the varieties you have. I am in Western Australia and my apple trees are just starting to bloom. I understand much of the pollen is airbourne and so the trees can be fertilised without the assistance of bees or insects. However, you would certainly need the trees to bloom at the same time.

    Good luck with it
