gunalda 30k north of gympie: jan 109.75 = 8 rain days feb 34.75 = 5 r/d's mar 32.25 = 10 r/d's apr 59.25 = 15 r/d's may 74.2 = 13 r/d's jun 143.8 = 20 r/d's jul 23.25 = 10 r/d's aug 25.45 = 5 r/d's sep 25.75 = 5 r/d's oct 116.95 = 12 r/d's nov 125.65 = 16 r/d's dec 79.85 = 11 r/d's total 851mm = 130 r/d's 04 total = 1225.65 = 132 r/d's 03 total = 1040.8 = 104 r/d's 02 total = 670.25 = 90 r/d's another consideration anything over around 650mm for the year and this piece of paradise shines too easy hey? i included actual rain days as calculated by BOM rules .2mm = an official rain day, not many think of how many days you get your rain over the year that equates to how many days you spend looking skyward for those clouds hey something to think about. for me i think it should be in all considerations. another is the capacity for your land to utilise what it gets from the clouds. len wishing all a happy new year
805mm is the Average. This hasn't been a bad year by any means. It's when you get months and months on end without any rain. Or especially when you expect the summer rain to start by November, and come late January and you haven't had a drop....that gets a bit rough.

Kapunda, 100km north af Adelaide, South Australia. Average rainfall is suposed to be about 500mm January 31mm February 21 March 10 April 15 May 6 June 120 July 51 August 72 September 83 October 103 November 50 December 39 Total for 2005 600mm (wet spring) 2004 535mm 2003 584mm 2002 406mm (less than average) 2001 581mm The el nino effect shows here. 2002 was an "el nino" year and there was a slight effect at the beginning of 2005 (according to Tim Flannery) though it abated during the year. The spring rain was jsut wonderful for my garden and vegetables, as well as the local grain farmers...it was a"fabulous start to the season".
