We are happy to day we have actually made a little progress. We have a website now which is in its beginnings. We have swale, kitchen gardens, food forest old and new, chickens now with there own baby's. We have gray water, human manure , more than one family living on site ( more to come). Rain water catchment.
The barn is almost ready to be the maintenance shop , storage and communal laundry area at one end. The other half being dedicated to the classroom/ communal area with adjacent kitchen/ produce prep area.

Paul Wheaton came by for a visit and we got to take him on a little tour. Check out the videos of his visit and our swale at our website www.dirtypermies.com .
    talk to you soon,
    Joey

Nice swale! Great work. I'd reckon you won't have to irrigate those trees at all in a couple years.

You used Justin Bieber to back your first swale movie? Are you insane?

    What an odd choice.

Thanks. I am looking foward to the no irrigation day. I think it will come also. I also am learning more which plants really can handle the more dry action. We have an avreage rain fall of 12 inches per year.

Yes we like JB around here on the farm. I hope all my swales blow up like JB did. We may be? I think we may be odd also. Not sure yet. We may get Justin into some permaculture and then oh boy... let it rip!

Not on food that I know of. So you know the County can log onto the internet and find out just as easily as the rest of us can :)

    not prone to paranoia

I do not remember talking about where we use the humanure but just that we create it. I am probably wrong being that my memory is not that good. Thank you for the heads up. Did you check out our website? And YouTube videos? Come by it you are in the area and have some permaculture fun with us! Joey
