My husband has just done his PDC and I plan to do one in November this year and we are really keen to start a permaculture project at the local high school. I was wondering if anyone here could point me in the right direction to get this started, particularly with regard to getting funding of some sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    G'day Emily

Think about what it is that you actually want to pursue: Define the project, pencil in a goal.

Think about who it is that you need to get on board: Sectors - (obviously, the) school, government (state and/or local), NGOs, sympathetic industries/businesses, the wider 'community' (including the 'local' uni).

Find 'champions' within these sectors, i.e. at the school this might be a dedicated teacher, or an exceptional student (example: Jeremy).

Compile a list of all funding streams that are in alignment with your project goal, some places to start looking (just to name a few):

    State Government

    Landcare

    CERES

Do your research: Find out what other schools are doing.

Collaborate with your 'champions', and start the visioning process.

    Cheerio, Markos.
