Greetings, All - My name is Cori and I am originally from Los Angeles, California, and most recently, Largo, Florida. My boyfriend and I found our perfect place after a year and a half of looking, and moved to some acreage in Doyle, Tennessee, on the Calfkiller River, this past November. We are in the beginning stages of starting a small, organic farm, with a music studio and art studio on the premises; we are both the children of musicians, and I have been an artist since childhood, as well as a writer. As for the farm, we are using a combination of permaculture and forest farming, with greenhouse-based aquaponics as an adjunct, and will ultimately be teaching classes in all of them, as well as bringing in teachers and lecturers from many different disciplines. I have two certificates in aquaponics, and am currently enrolled in the Permaculture Design Course, through Permaculture Visions in Australia. Our place is roughly 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Chattanooga, Nashville and Knoxville, and a little over three hours from Atlanta, so we are in an excellent location as each of these cities have established organic and natural foods communities already. In addition, we are surrounded by natural beauty, just west of Smoky Mountains National Park, and smack in the middle of waterfall country.
