We are starting a new project on a 300 acre farm in Southern Iowa, USA. We have opportunities for short and long term interns.

Our project is just getting started, so it is a great opportunity to get involved working from the ground up. We have long range goals of establishing a community and creating a group of trained specialists to launch outreach programs on other farms and in communities throughout the US.

We will be focusing on permaculture, natural building, renewable energy, and building a community on this land. We are especially seeking interns with experience in permaculture, natural building, carpentry and/or renewable energy. However, we are open to anyone with a passion of working towards creating a better world.

where at in Iowa, anywhere near Fairfield? Have friend there with a nursery of Permaculture plants and you may want to team withe Uni there to get interns. It is a part of our degree program there as i teach the PDC for the degree. I should be coming through FF, IA in a month or so I do believe.

We are about 40 miles from Fairfield. We are definitely connecting with the university there.

We just created a website for our project. Here is the link: https://terralucent.org

Being new to the concept, how does the whole 'Internship' thing work? What do the interns get in return for their work? What are the credentials of the people running the project?

Thanks for the website, the terrain looks very similar to Fairfield, looks like you are facing similar situation, some erosion gullies forming, bare soil from till agriculture, incised and damaged creeks, and a lake of trees outside of the drainages. We will be coming through that area with the Keyline plow i do believe in late April with a compost tea brewer as well. Can't recommend it enough in that sort of past land use as chemical or industrial ag. Got to get your wind breaks established as i ahve seen many a fried trees there from too much wind and not enough fungus in the soil. Cardboard sitting on the ground undigested for several years, no that is a serious lack of fungus even on the organic farm right outside of town. Sad but true.
