    I'm with mischief. However, the nanoparticles, I wonder if that is just caused by mans stupidity such as littering which is how we have more then 1 gyre in the ocean now filled with plastics.

    the nano-particles causing brain damage in the fish were titanium dioxide. Nano scale titanium dioxide is commonly used to make house paint white.. I was a house painter, until about the time i found this out...

    It's also used to make toothpaste and sun screen white along with a host of other consumer products. It is the "whitest" substance on earth and most of it is exported from Australia I believe.:n:

    I have watched it dug up with large machinery destroying the river bank, so honestly, I am not surprised at all.

    Titanium White is the most common fine art material, it is used extensively in nearly every painting be it watercolor, oils, or acrylic.
