Re: Breaking the great Australian silence

    *deep deep breath*, Marko-style

nice attempt at pouring petrol on the fire

type the words "arguing on the internet" into Google and you can see for yourself where those last 4 words come from: pages and pages and pages of references to what you've quoted above. But perhaps there's the very faintest ghost of a chance that Mr Angelica honestly didn't know what the phrase really meant; perhaps he didn't in fact omit those key words because the meaning is so obvious to the net-savvy amongst us that the phrase still packs a punch when only a veiled reference is made to it.

perhaps it was an honest mistake. If this is the case it will be a simple matter for him to state as much and retract the remark.

I look forward to his response in this thread.

Re: Breaking the great Australian silence

As requested i typed the phrase into google. I admit i hadn't heard that phrase before. I note the phrase uses ''running'' and not ''winning''.

I also note, Michael (or another moderator) has removed the offending post ?

I admit the phrase was in bad taste.

I also think Michael has been told enough... He made a mistake. Lets move on!

Re: Breaking the great Australian silence

How do i retract a question ? Isn't it automatically retracted by not giving an answer ?

"YOU killed that Dog...'' ... "No i didn't it was hit by the neighbours car...'' Sorry I didn't know..." (Retracted)

''Did YOU kill that Dog...'' (If someone does not know something and they ask a question... its not a point of blame).

I asked the question you are asking me to retract and you answered by pointing me to a search on where i could find the answer... to which i did and responded accordingly.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

so...do I take this to mean that you are no longer implying that I was calling anybody 'retarded' ?

lol... Its always fun when your at the forum, you should come here more often.

I was never implying you called anyone anything... I was asking WHO you were referring to in your statement - until you corrected me by showing me the links which answered my question...

The Answer being... You were quoting from another website the extended phrase from a shortened version already given... hence you were not calling anyone anything.

I'd have settled for a simple "yes", but good, let's move on.

We can see that Dalzieldrin. a petulant, sulky, childish response. Hardly the attributes you would need if you thought you could do better, and put yourself forward for the job of moderator.

wow...all I was wanting was a moderator to acknowledge that what they posted was offensive and that it wouldn't happen again - but this is petulant, sulky and childish.

    odd

and you still haven't acknowledged, not even for the good of setting an example that you can then reasonably expect others to follow, that making repeat references to the particular phrase in question was inappropriate. fix this up and you can lecture me alllll you like
