Hi Everyone I am new here and new to permaculture.
I am in my last term of Tafe cert III in Horticulture.
We only have a small backyard but figure we have to start somewhere
    Thanks.

That was a copy paste from general chat.

    So who am I?
    I am Peter Cundy
I was raised on the land my dad was a gardener on a large property east of Armidale.
Then we moved to the west of Armidale where I took over his job as gardener when he retired. :)
So I have it in my blood hehe.
we are looking to be rather self sufficient and already have a little vegie patch that is contributing to the meals.
we only have a small area we can turn into food ground.

Feel free to ask any questions you want.It would be great to have a Q&A thing going in here.

Are you impacted by the proliferation of coal mines in the area Peter?

    Re: Who is Toolworx

    That is a good question.
Not directly impacted i am a townie so the mines will not affect the town...well it may make it a bit bigger and I like to live in a small town so um yea it will in that way.
I know a few farmers in the area that will have drilling on there land in the next few weeks/months. They (BHP) will be drilling a few hundred meters from a working bore for house water.
There are a few farmers selling up to Goliath (BHP). See David here (The farmers and concerned community) https://www.ccag.org.au/
I am not for the mining as we all know what it is doing not just to the land that they mine but to a far reaching area(The World).
The associated health risks'The grain trains have to cover up to keep the dust down but the coal trains do not :-x
I will be participating in a blockade when the time comes. there are a few going on now.
this is our food bowl that they will be mining in and around.
