We are installing wood raised beds, 14" high. I'd like to plant perennial peanut between and around the beds, but am wondering if it would be able to invade the beds from below. The wood is not dug down into the ground, but sitting on top. Does anyone  have experience with this?
Re: Will perennial peanut creep into raised beds from below? It may climb, but arachis pintoy is not in any danger of being invasive. It is easy to eliminate through sheet mulching or pulling it up.
Re: Will perennial peanut creep into raised beds from below? you obviously have not had much experience with pinto christopher, what region are u in other than newatthisville?
Re: Will perennial peanut creep into raised beds from below? Hi Buff. I am in Belize. I have over 20 years experience farming, and about 10 years with arachis, and I have been able to pull much of it up, and then sheet mulch the balance when I needed to remove it. The key is to remove the runners to keep them from expanding. I don't think I know where Newatthisville is. Is that someplace near where you are?
