The Many Uses of Epsom Salts By: Dee Braun https://www.articlesnatch.com/Article/Th ... lts/375049 I thought this article was just going to be about Epsom salts' garden uses. It has always been used in my family to promote passionfruit growth. But the many uses in the article astounded me. Worth a read and a rate. https://www.articlesnatch.com/Article/Th ... lts/375049 [/color]
Re: The Many Uses of Epsom Salts By: Dee Braun Interesting. I used Epsom salts last year to counter Magnesium deficiency in my horse-manure-grown-tomatoes, but I didn't know it could be used for migraine. I had a migraine last night ....... thanks for the tip.
Re: The Many Uses of Epsom Salts By: Dee Braun Soak tinea infected feet in a weak solution... it gives you brown feet, but cures the tinea. T
Re: The Many Uses of Epsom Salts By: Dee Braun I just came across this article If you have some time, explore the whole site. A lot of interesting articles. (It can also be an Fe or pH problem) https://www.puyallup.wsu.edu/~Linda%20Ch ... mSalts.pdf Perhaps the leaching problem could be ameliorated by soaking charcoal in the magnesium -Epsom salts- first? Charcoal would only slowly give up its magnesium. Especially activated charcoal. Is the Top End of Australia magnesium deficient? You would think the "big wet" would be considered "high rainfall"?
I read today that it can be used to improve germination rates - you soak the seed in a solution of Epsom salts before planting. Any one know what dilution to use?
If you take epsom salts orally, it will cause diarrhea. Epsom salts and milk of magnesia are two common treatments for constipation. For headaches, it is better to use chelated magnesium, and even then, start with a lower dose and let the bowels get used to it. Many people have low levels of magnesium and deficiency, and this contributes to headaches, irregular heart beats, low HDL, mitral valve problems, weak collagen, and many other dis-ease.
>> Anyone know where epsom salts come from and how they are made? They are from naturally occurring mineral deposits - some involve the separation of minerals by geothermal processes, other deposits are laid down by evaporating sea water. Not sure about how they are processed - maybe washed and filtered and assayed when used for human consumption.
I'm thinking to try the Epsom salts out on my tomato plants. Does anyone know the best way to use them - dissolved in water that I give to the soil or sprayed on the leaves? is there any possible harmful side effect? has anyone tried them on tomateos and did they get good results? Thank you!!
I have heard that every 6 months you should 2 loads of hot water wash in your washing machine then 1 load with no clothes but with a cup of epsom salts in it to break down body oils out of clothes etc in your machine which greatly improves the life of washing machines.
