mentioned this on other threads, looks as though the mainstream media has finally picked up on it.

most of the "futures" for corn and wheat have been gobbled up by the fuel companies for the next decade or two.

Can't eat at maccas, but we'll still be able to drive there

How is it possible for a species as clever as ours to be so blatantly dumb?

The problem with democracy is it can only be implemented by politicians.

Way to increase the production of food or fuel crops with ORMUS, sea solids etc...You can also make a magnetic ORMUS trap from a springwater source.

I still can't figure out why you just can't apply sea water to the crops, rather than have to put the Lye (sodium hydroxide) into the sea water to preciptate out the solids. Perhaps that is just for a commerical seasolids ORMUS fertilizer product.

Yes, it's pretty sad when we are so addicted to our fuel needs that we're willing to starve to satisfy the habit. There was an interesting article in National Geographic on this topic recently. It basically indicated that the carbon emissions from the energy used to create bio-fuel (for corn this is) is greater than that of the petrol it replaces. You really have to wonder....

Perhaps I have missed the point here, but you can't apply sea water to crops because the salt kills them.
