A few years ago, i wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving here, explaining that Thanksgiving was a celebration of the first welfare state. This, unfortunately, devolved into a Guy Fawkes/Thanksgiving origin thread. So to avoid any of that, Happy Thanksgiving to the Yanks, and happy Guy Fawkes Day to the rest of the English speaking world!
