Hi all, We have a plant growing in our suburban Melbourne backyard. I'm not sure what it is or where it came from. The plant grows very tall, around three metres high. It has a bamboo-like stem and, at the top of the stem, it has bunches of large pale purple/pink flowers. It dies down over summer and it flowering now (late autumn). There are some pictures below. Can anyone help identify this plant? I like it but want to make sure it isn't going to become invasive. Thanks for your help, Derek
Thanks Thanks for the reply plumtree - now I know. Much appreciated. And arawajo - if you live somewhere around Melbourne I could drop you off a section of the stem. Apparently this is all you need to generate a new plant.
I would of said pravissima, I collected a sample (and seed) a while ago and had it identified as such. But, during that ID, there were 1 or 2 others that were very close. Any close ups of the leaves?
