Not to mention their latest campaign to "enclose" the food supply by patenting genes. https://www.indiaresource.org/news/2003/4486.html Nasty, very nasty.
I've had a thought about Monsanto and how i think they'll make even more money. With their chemical engineers, they'll be able to grow field loads of canola that will be pest resistant, and then turn the canola into green fuel for cars etc. They will then say that they have done a wonderful thing for the planet and get a big thumbs up from someone who should know better. Cheers Woody
Woody, They are already doing this. Monsanto: "Lets spend 100 calories of fossil fuel to make 80 calories of "biodiesel", and call it sustainable, while polluting the genetic resources of other farmers with our unwanted genes..." Monsanto is evil.
Can anyone think of a reason we can use to skitch the ACCC onto Monsanto, for overseas posters the ACCC is our corporate watchdog. Given that it's a group of, often under-funded, public servants I believe they do a pretty good job. I have anecdotal evidence that Roundup is commerically available in Australia at about 1/2 the cost of the same product in the USA. Do Monsanto make Roundup in Australia? If not, are they 'dumping' here to create a market? [Please insert little R's and TM's where-ever they should appear] floot
Buy shares? As I said in a previous post We all need to buy shares in Monsanto. THEN you have a voice.
