Hi All I have been reading up a little on Fukuoka Natural Farming and was wondering if any here uses this system? I have two areas that I would like to setup as a grain/crop area and like what I have read which is only a small section in permaculture2, I would like to use the system without rice in a zone2 area. Apart from reading the below book where is a good place to start, my area is about to be cleared of a sucessful pumpkin crop and will be ready for whats next soon. I'm also looking for somehwere to buy the book "The One Straw Revolution" in Australia if possible. Fukuoka Website for those who are interested. https://larryhaftl.com/ffo/index.html
g'day bazman try abebooks: https://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/Sea ... lution&x=0 good luck with the search, study, and design. happy new year, one and all.
These guys sell the one straw revolution on a regular basis through ebay, and at 9.99 it's cheaper than most places.. Eden seeds also sell all of his books, but not as cheap. https://cgi.ebay.com.au/ONE-STRAW-R...ryZ50397QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I read One Straw Revolution, given to me by Tom Hayden, a really nice guy who was a Peace Corps volunteer here in the 80s (thanks Tom!), and it was a wonderfully thought provoking book! Baz, get a copy. What a great book! Mine got eaten by termites a long time ago, and I still miss it (in fact, just went on my list of books to get...)
If you join the Fukuoka Farming group in Yahoo groups, this book is available for download. And the group has a whole load of good ideas too! Mike
Soilmakers group Mike, that was a great tip about the yahoo group. I also joined up and, while browsing the messages, found this organic soil building group. Looks interesting too.
