Hi everybody, just wanted to say hello. I’m a permaculture newbie; however I’m looking forward to completing the PDC and PIA at Zaytuna at the end of July and kicking off my new life in making a small part of this big world a better place. I enjoy the science and problem solving components of permaculture and look forward to using my technical background in conjunction to really achieve some level of self sufficiency and inspire others Cheers Troy
Greetings K-I and welcome, Congratulations on your upcoming PDC graduation! You're Permaculture life on Kangaroo Island will be a welcome addition to the wildlife preserves there. What a beautiful place. Looks to be a dry climate?
Good morning Gandalf. Yes it is a dry temperate zone, similar to a Mediterranean climate I believe. (Same parallel). Average rainfall is around 450-500mm per year and falls predominantly in May, jun and July. I already harvest and store it in tanks however the soil on my property absolutely needs more attention and I’m hoping swales and other methods I learn will allow me to store more water in the whole system. Cheers KI permie
