Here are photos of a very leafy wild plant that grows on my property (Kenai Peninsula, AK) and I have no clue what they are, but they look like they could be important. Does anyone recognize them? You can also see them as the last post I did on my Facebook page below. Carol https://www.facebook.com/AnchorPointPermaculture/
Rumex crispus ? - yellow or curly dock https://swbiodiversity.org/seinet/taxa/index.php?taxon=rumex crispus It also often helps to ask a local.
My mum always had some growing in the back corner of the garden, she used it to make a ricotta and feta pie in fillo pastry with some of that mixed in with some silver beet to give it a tang
Yes, I guess it could be a dock - we are supposed to have them in Alaska. I will have to check around with others in the area. I was hoping it was some kind of wild comfrey - but I'm not familiar with them so not sure
Well, if you recognize it as something your mother used and it has a tang - probably it a dock. I will see if I can find more local information on it. Thanks!
