I just got some free rabbit manure from a pet rabbit breedery but afterwards I was thinking are they going to feed the rabbits a lot of chemical medications. I hope there is nothing particularly nasty in it like steriliser or things like that. Does anyone have experience with this?
It's not likely that they would be fed anything detrimental to your gardens. Plus rabbit manure doesn't need to be composted first like large animal manures.
Ok thanks, I put it on the lawn. What other manures or other things could be suitable for getting a lawn established more quickly on rocky ground with not a lot of soil yet?
My wife & I have had house rabbits for years & I can tell you from experience that there are VERY few meds you can give rabbits because of their digestive system. Most of the time, if a rabbit becomes ill, it happens too quick & is too expensive to save them. You're fine.
the only damage i see around here from wabbits is when they munch on a plant. not ever seen any harm come from the pellets. as for getting topsoil going probably any organic materials you can scrounge will help (wood pieces, rotting wood, bark, wood chips, plain cardboard, old/rotting hay bales, etc.).
