    Hi, I'm Emmy

I'm 27 from the UK. I've been travelling around WWOOFing and working for around 5 years now. I spent a long time in South East Asia, a while in Central America and some time in the US. I am embarking on finally doing some legitimate qualifications, the PDC and then a Training of Teachers course in the UK, meaning I'l be qualified by April 2017.

I'm really looking for connections for someone looking for a teacher of the PDC I've built a myriad of skills on my travels and have these to bring to the table to new projects. I ran a marketing company in Bangkok, before switching to permaculture as my main interest and have run bars and hostels in Central. Permaculture interests me because I'm a systems thinker and to me, this is the only system that make sense. I'd love to help someone apply that to their place :)

    Hi Emmy and welcome!
Well said! It's way past time for the human species to grow up and begin (resume?) working with nature instead of against her.
You've accumulated significant experience and with your credentials, you'll be well positioned as a teacher (and doer!). Have you considered contacting the PRI (Geoff Lawton) regarding opportunities for someone with your qualifications? Also, look through the people and projects on Permaculture Global for potential partnerships.
As an aside, we would be thrilled to hear more about your travels and projects.

    Hi Bill

Thanks for getting back to me. I have been doing quite a lot of research since this and feel it would be best to do my Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design, however I would really like to specialise in social permaculture; I feel that if we don't have the social design systems to support the physical design systems, communities will fall apart. I was wondering where to head with this, where to look for specific courses or internships as they appear to be few and far between, despite this being as important as all the other stuff!

I think that social Permaculture is a relatively new application and one which has lots of room to grow. I mean, why not apply Permaculture design principles to our social structures? I've read that during times of abundance and growth, social systems are based on competition but during times of shortage and contraction social systems turn to co-operation. I'm very much looking forward to the cooperation phase ...
