Na Dpi plant breeder in Darwin!
He seemed offended when i suggested it might be a monoculture problem!! (I suggested casurina and mustard)

Yes Andrew Kim is a very pleasant man doing great things.
    d care to elucidate ?
BB banana trails are going well and I have had encouraging comments regarding soil structure and plant health and no fusarium yet in a infected monoculture system (new poor ground). I suggested pintos peanut and inter cropping for mulch.

I think mustard and Casurina are biofumigants they anecdotally work on tomatoes!
    Casurina used as a tea!

Thanks for the reminder I have some casurina tea outside I will give it a go. IMO teas are the way to go for supporting existing plants and microbial interactions.I have harvested my first tomatoes for years thanks to BB.

Thank you Andrew love your work
    Did the controls get seasol?
I would prefer if you kept the trials equal minus the BB seed soak, so you can put anything you like on both the BB plants and non BB plants equally (except BB it is done). There should be no requirement for a second application foliar or otherwise. How are your controls growing? I would bet good as the better plants grow the harder it is to tell the benefits of BB. A better strike rate and earlier emergence would have been nice were you watching ? Once the plants are up it is hard to see the difference without a paddock full . As an example I have a very good organic gardener trialing BB who has huge nutrient dense veggies the best I have seen and he hasn't seen a difference in his produce with the BB I believe he already has the biology purring and so will not see any benefit ,I have him doing long term trials to see if I can save him fertilizer in the longer term and am waiting for him to turn the BB row to assess the soil for a worm count .The feedback I have had from those who need it the most on contaminated or diseased areas has been really encouraging and I have some good farmers who are using it for only one reason It has and continues to save them money, not that I am trying to influence you I want the truth from all the BB trials .
Was there any difference in the strike rate ? have you looked the soil condition around the plants? Is there any difference in the weeds growing next to them? Thanks again for your involvement.
