Hill Top Farm - working with nature Hill Top Farm is an organic farm, designed using permaculture principles. We run small residential courses catering for all levels of experience and interest. Hill Top Farm is located just outside Cooktown in far north Queensland.
Hi Wendy, Dave Mattinson from the EFGD. How did you go with the chicken forage system you were working on. Good to see you here!
Hi David, the permaculture chook forage system is coming along. I have posted a detailed aritcle on the design rationale i have used (hilltopfarm.wix.com/beyondsustainability#!Hill-Top-Farm-Article-Creating-poultry-forage-systems/cesr/92ED2350-2BAC-40AF-B212-0B9BC86D8DC0). It has been challenging with the long dry season and developing perennial ground covers, but starting to get a canopy happening which will ameleroate the microclimate. Looks great, Wendy. I found your No-mower guide a great read too. You should share I here for others in the same climate. Its a great use of Dave's design method for tropical environments. Keep up the good work!
