Don't worry though, most states are already doing something about it. Could this be the final nail in the coffin for the "American Dream"? I hope so.
Will it be real education or just greenwashing to help the kiddies sleep at night next to the freeway of destruction? That's the $$$mill question.
While I might applaud these efforts as a step in the right direction, a lot of the verbiage smacks of idealistic pipe-dreams considering the "raw material" they have to work with ... and by raw material I don't mean the children, I mean the existing school systems and bureaucracies that run them. In general, schools in the USA are merely daycare for working parents these days. If the organization proposing this had some real clout, the ideas are quite good.
