    G'day,

Ben Luna, a graduate of the recently held PDC in Patagonia (https://www.permaculture.biz/patagoniaPDC.htm) took down a log of all the quotable quotes from the course. This one can apparently be credited to yours truly, "If you live by the shore, you're cactus, mixed with mud and water".

I'm an optimist who is very pessimistic.

    Ciao,

    Daz

Yeah, that's about the sum of it Daz.

Hope your Wisconsin course is a success - I contacted a friend over there and while he was unable to afford to attend himself, from what he's said he did spread the word among a few likely candidates.

    Darren,

Maybe we can hook up when you swing through Canada and I'll buy you some of our better beer that is available.

BTW, did you ever get in touch with Daniel Jaramillo? I remember you were after his email (I hope you received that from me alright).

    G'day Jez,

Yeah I hope Wisconsin goes ok. Numbers are pretty small: I don't have the pulling power of a Mollison, Holmgren or Lawton! If it goes anything like we went in Patagonia then I'll be really happy by course end: a room full of activists. This is not always the case unfortunately with the larger more "viable" courses. Like Ethan Roland puts it, " You can count the number of seeds in an apple, but you can't count the number of apples in a seed" - proverb as told by Paul Krafel.

    Ciao,

That's a great proverb Daz - very true.

Yeah, I can see how it would be a bit of a double edged sword with bottom line viability as opposed to the opportunities a smaller group offers in terms of getting to know participants better and give a more personalised delivery.

Best of luck with the rest of the tour.

    G'day,

Sorry Doug, didn't get back to you yesterday. Had to rush off and teach at the local PDC.

Always up for some of the good stuff. My Portland students assure me that they have the best of everything over there: particularly from the micro breweries.

Haven't contacted Daniel lately no. Will now after your prompting. Been a flat out lately so would be good to connect with that good fellow.

    Ciao,

    Daz

Your 2007 tour has you coming to Canada. Are the dates and locations set?

    G'day,

No dates set as yet: still going thru the discussion phase at this stage. Probably be early June I reckon as I'm scheduled to be in Italy/Austria later that month. We have an old friend we want to catch up with in Ottawa so we'll get there regardless of whether we teach there or not.

Are you running any PDC's or other courses up there?

    Ciao,

    Daz

I have a 2-day Intro to Permaculture scheduled for the last weekend in March in Norwood, which is about halfway between Toronto and Ottawa.

I don't have June planned out yet, but I would imagine that I could pop over your way.

I'm putting together a curriculum to get registered, but it's turning out to be almost as big as the Manual itself. I'm aiming to get registered early next year, but I won't be teaching and PDCs until I'm more experienced.

    G'day,

Well if you do want to get cranking on a PDC in Canada then I'm putting myself out there to be the lead facilitator, with your good self and others taking a range of sessions to build up the experience that you are seeking. Drop us a line if you are interested and I'll forward you a copy of my Course Outline and Proposal document.

    Ciao,

    Darren Doherty

    G'day,

Janet and I teach in Sydney each year. We have been teaching together since about 2000, when we both helped Bill Mollison out for a couple of courses in Tassie.

How did the PDC with Janet go? Good numbers? Her property must be looking pretty sweet by now.

Good luck with all that now comes your way.

    Ciao,

    Darren Doherty
