To get my horse to eat her supplements I add them to chaff with molasses added. Now she has laminitis and so I have to cut out the molasses. I saw stevia plants being sold in Bunnings and that got me thinking could I make a tea from the leaves to sweeten her chaff and cover the taste of the supplements?

Since Stevia is a natural sweetener I would think that it would work a charm. Only one way to truly know for sure though, give it a try and let us know how it worked out.

Have you tried using dolomite? It's quite sweet in flavour. I use it as a base in a mineral lick for my cows. I use the food grade Mudgee brand. About $13 for 25kg.
