Wonderful to see Permaculture being explored in Iceland & Norway.

I've been in Scotland for 6 months to walk with my ancestors, to begin my life anew here in Orkney after 11 years on the Big Island & Maui in Hawaii, and to share my passion & gifts: Art, Music, Permaculture Design since 2001, founding The Maui Permaculture Network - MPN, in 2006, & The Orkney Permaculture Network - OPN, in 2016,
to invite healthy, local community gatherings, foods, synergy & value-added products, & as a way to simply & steadily build a more resilient, stable & thriving community here. Permaculture is fun.

I love Sepp Holzer's work. I've trained with Nader Khalili since 1993 at Cal-Earth, .org, and with Penny Livingston-Stark, Robyn Francis, and countless others to steep in the beautiful way Permaculture guides us to grow abundance and beauty for generations to come.

    Welcome Claire!
Hawaii to Scotland must be a big adjustment; whole new classes of plants and animals to integrate. Are you originally from Orkney?
Did you ever get to meet "Richard on Maui"? Many of us have been wondering what he's up to these days.
Looking forward to hearing about your exploits in Scotland.

Hello~ I am not sure, so I asked Richard on Maui if he is my friend who is now Richard, actually on Big Island. We'll see if he replies. Since, I started the MPN in 2006, I know everyone I can possibly know who loves, &/or lives Permaculture or wants to. I get inquiries from all over the world of people seeking connections to our community. Now, Scotland...my father was Scottish, died in 1976, so I am seeking my Dual Citizenship and the opportunity to live here for my first time, ever. I have visited 10 times or so since I was 6 months old. This has been the best trip, as I found 32 generations of my lineage from Orkney Mainland, and I only had 2 when I arrived in July. So cool. I am excited to learn the plants and animals care for Scotland, Norway, Iceland and everywhere else I am invited.

I left Maui to share Regenerative Healing on every level beginning with Core Clarity: Regenerative Healing through Music, Ancient Celtic Invocation, & Prayer, as well as practical Permaculture Regenerative Design for farms and homes of any size.

much ash volcanic soils being very erodable that cover
was important... it takes a very long time to grow trees
    in Iceland.

where i came across this was a book called _Dirt_ by Mongomery where
he has a picture of what it used to be like, just one lone bit surrounded
    by erosion.

this is one pic on-line i was able to find:
