I was just wondering if chickens could eat Jerusalem artichokes, and if so, do they need to be cooked? I know goats can eat them raw.

they like them grated![]()
... and other than grated, chickens could care less about sunchokes (rabbits like them better).
Rabbits eat them? Cool!
Yeah, rabbits will eat them to the ground, and then start on the underground (pet rabbit on his ventures into my garden says so).
One upside (talking about free-ranging pet rabbits) ... I learned something new from mine ... second-year (going to seed) silverbeet throws THE most amazing baby leaves when it's eaten to the ground (but the roots left in the ground and rabbit moved on to other pastures). I'm getting baby-leaves all over the place!
Sunchokes don't cope so well with that treatment, chickens like the flower heads most.
