    Off topic I know, but...

I was watching the cricket this week (whilst plaiting garlic, not just bludging) and I noticed a tsunami of Roundup ads, advertising the new 'Round up Attack with IQ inside'. The catchphrase was "It truly is the ultimate killing machine!", well at least it's not false advertising

I couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor little grass plant as it got slammed by the shark living in the soil!

Carry on then. Here is a product that may help with your bio-cides http://www.globallandrepair.com.au/products/herbi-safe/

The piece quoted below gave me the chills , good explanation on how glyphosate works and its dangers . Of course it was never designed to be sprayed on plants that we eat it was a knock down , typical human behaviour if there is a short cut we can find it .

Crazy as it sounds, researchers cannot perform whatever safety studies on GE foods they see fit because the way the red tape has been put in place, they could easily be found guilty of breaking the law by performing research on a patented product.)

Herbi-safe is an interesting product - reading the MDS it contains fulvic acid - low molecular weight versions of the many humic acids that are present in Humus or good old compost - so digging in compost will neutralise the effect of herbicides - probably better than spraying another proprietory product.

Thanks Matto and Terra - Years ago (35 to be exact) when I was in the organic group in Geelong - we were told that Round up was "safe" for organic growers to use - obviously things have changed as time passes and data grows. I have only ever used it to clear areas of declared weeds and to try and get on top of things like lantana , wondering jew, singapore daisy, and cobblers pegs that are well established on our property . I am clearing about 200 square meters to plant an orchard with crops between the rows of trees - ground cover plants are now going in crops to follow once irrigation from our treatment plant is instaalled - after Mattos link there is even more reason to get the compost heap working and reduce my usage of glyphosate. Thanks for the heads up.
