Well,
It's hard to have both thermal mass and insulation. TM is for cycling heat/cold thru the walls (i.e. by the time temps have dropped at night the warmth of the day is just making its way into...
Time for an update.
I've tweaked the swales. Added 3" drainage pipe at the bottom and running the length of the swales. Then covered with a foot+ of wood chips. Finally was tested with a 3" rain...
Looks like Warren Brush from Quail Springs just did a PDC in Kenya last month and has another in March.
Maybe you can get in contact with the locals that took the PDC for assistance or contact...
Thought Max only ate canned dog food...
I think most of the Maxes would be hard pressed to identify anything as food if it's not in a styrofoam box or tin can.
I'm planning on planting more...
Would love to have a Permdatabase online to use...
Found this one for picking trees. Works great and has tons of options to choose from.

I've bought them thru these guys.

But they don't have them all the time, really rarely do they have them as the seeds are very perishable and they come...
Yeah they put off a lot of leaves. Nice ground cover and they climb well too.
My Guinea fowl like to nibble on them so I'd guess that rabbits will like as well. Might like the young bean pods...
Would love to get that recipe. I let about half of mine go to seed for the next season but haven't tried cooking any yet.
And I hope you're not 'stacking' the cooking and showering. Just envision...
A bit late in the year to be planting cowpea in the northern hemi...
Might try some clovers that will handle the cold months.
Might take a look at this guys setup.

I like how he's got the chooks above the pool making 'deposits' for the fish.
I'm on the side of not needing a PDC. Wonder if Bill Mollison has taken a PDC? Taught them sure, but taken one? Guess he can use one of the 'without PDC' badge...
I took my PDC (via Geoff and...
GM crops are perfectly safe. As long as you don't eat, plant or taunt them.
Green Revolution 2.0™ now destroys the environment in half the time...

Couldn't get the permacultureplants.com link to work but I did find this
Permaculture Plants preview
Pretty extensive 'preview' of the book. Lots of good info can be gleaned from it. I like the...
Thanks JoH.
Would love to see how you spin it.
Doing it around more than one or two trees make it hard to wire in the top. My birds much prefer the huge live oak roost. I only cage them when cold...
Thanks all for the kind comments.
Yeah, I've been trying to look at each mistake as a learning opportunity and not kick myself too much over them.
I have many, many learning opportunities out...
OK,
A little back story first. I have sleep apnea, a condition that cause you to stop breathing while sleeping plus you're sleep deprived. It leaves you tired (exhausted really) all day/night with a...
BTW Just found this:
Are cigarette butts litter? Absolutely! But unlike paper products they're not biodegradable. Nearly all cigarette filters are composed of a bundle of 12,000 plastic-like...
