My stupid comment about filling it with mains was partly due to misinterpreting your comment, but also because I was thinking more so about the sub-surface system than the swale.
I realise swales...
I think the swale would get filled by mains initially(or tanks before a big rain). With the swale also receiving the diverted water from sub-surface drainage system.
so if the drainage system is...
There may be a problem... I've got rhythm eggs but are we likely to find a permie who finds it natural to shake them. and their colors are pink and purple, might have to get the light brown paint...

-that sub-system is playing with my head a bit. I assumed..that any water would drain away from the block to where ever the pipe goes. So if this...

Some years ago my father purchased a vineyard and converted it from flood to drip irrigation. The entire farm (approx. 40 acres) had (and still has) a sub-surface drainage system, which...
My man, I've had a recent idea of everyone downing tools on THEIR property, travelling to a farm destination where someone needs a lot of help. A musically inspired working bee. The permie band...
The background to my questions relate to the financial cost of setting up a permaculture enterprise.
Scenario: A permaculture farm is set up with seeds/plantings donated by the permaculture...
I’ll just throw my 2cents in from a beginners stand point, also having had similar ideas.
I’ve referred to it as a Permanac (permaculture almanac); probably to amuse myself more than anything else. ...
Hey, i write my own original music, but i got a bit lost with what you're trying to say. Do you want to start a band made up of permaculturalist?
The land is definately the biggest issue I face, although if I apply myself, only in the short term. My dad's block is really not an option before I complete a PDC. There's too much work I don't...
I've now TWICE written detailed responses on this thread and somehow managed to lose both!!!! I need to have a break now before this laptop goes out the window and I'll get back to you at a later...
Yep, PDC first. SOLD(subject to finance, lol)! Makes perfect sence. Why make things harder than they need to be from the beginning when I can negate all that with knowledge.
In short, I'm...
Thanks for your reply Annette,
so I'm on the right track with location, that's good. I am really excited about the like-mindedness, in contrast I feel like an alien where I am, even when I talk...
